SUSTAINABILITY

Sustainability is at the core of everything we do. For fashion to have a future, we need to rethink the way we produce, consume, and care for clothing. At The Rose Room, we believe that knowledge is key—with the right expertise, we can make smarter choices, build long-lasting wardrobes, take better care of our clothes, and ultimately drive a more sustainable fashion industry.

Since launching our courses in 2016, sustainability has been one of our most important pillars. We are committed to raising competence at every level of the fashion industry, ensuring that stylists, designers, retailers, and consumers have the tools to make informed decisions. Our programs educate students on responsible fashion practices, from understanding new sustainable materials to recognizing ethical brands and integrating circular fashion strategies. By staying ahead of industry developments, we ensure that our students do too.

We also incorporate sustainability into our Personal Shopping services, helping clients build wardrobes that stand the test of time. By selecting high-quality, timeless pieces and educating them on garment care, we promote a more conscious approach to fashion consumption. Sustainability isn’t about limiting creativity—it’s about reshaping the industry with smarter choices, conscious design, and lasting impact.

OUR COMMITMENT TO AGENDA 2030

The Rose Room is dedicated to contributing to the United Nations’ Agenda 2030, with a strong focus on Goal 12: Sustainable Consumption & Production. The fashion industry is one of the world’s largest contributors to environmental challenges, and we believe that education is key to driving meaningful change.

Agenda 2030 is a global initiative adopted by world leaders in 2015, aiming to eradicate poverty, combat climate change, and build more just and sustainable societies. Within its 17 Sustainable Development Goals, Goal 12 focuses on transforming consumption and production patterns to minimize waste, reduce environmental impact, and promote more ethical business models.

At The Rose Room, we integrate these principles into our curriculum, ensuring that our students and clients gain the knowledge and skills to shape a more responsible future for fashion. Whether by adopting sustainable styling techniques, working with eco-friendly brands, or influencing industry standards, we empower the next generation to make a real difference.

“The future of fashion is sustainable, and we are here to lead the way”

WHAT CAN YOU DO?

Sustainability in fashion is a collective effort. No matter your role in the industry or as a consumer, you have the power to make a difference. Here’s how:

As a Stylist

Stylists play a key role in shaping fashion choices and consumer behavior. By prioritizing sustainable brands, selecting timeless pieces, and educating clients on responsible fashion, you can influence a more conscious industry. Consider working with rental services, upcycling garments, and promoting quality over quantity to reduce unnecessary waste.

As a Retail Company

Fashion retailers hold the responsibility of making sustainability accessible. From sourcing ethical materials to offering transparent supply chains, your decisions shape the future of fashion. Implement take-back programs, invest in circular fashion models, and educate customers on sustainable shopping habits to drive real change.

As a Consumer

Every purchase is a statement. Choose quality over fast fashion, invest in versatile pieces, and take care of your garments to extend their lifespan. Support brands with ethical values, embrace second-hand shopping, and consider repairing or repurposing clothing instead of discarding it. Small changes in how you shop and care for your wardrobe can have a lasting impact.
